In 1996 Universal apparently tried lifting the Orca out with a harness and the hull was so rotted that the boat simply broke in half. Universals Tom Williams claimed that the major problem with the ride was overcoming drag caused by the water when the sharks lunged forward. After pushing back the reopening date numerous times, Universal Studios Orlando finally debuted its new and improved Jaws ride in 1993.
Roy Scheider was asked to reprise his role as Chief Brody, but stated, The only way I would reprise my role is if I were to be killed off at the beginning of the movie. Ultimately, he didnt appear in the movie, but the idea of Brody being killed off was used for his younger son, Sean.
Poor George. As the tour boat approaches a lighthouse situated on top of a rocky jetty, the tour is suddenly interrupted by a radio distress call from a fellow tour boat skipper named Gordon.
